Gracious Living at Applewood Manor Bed and Breakfast , sold, Castleton, Vermont

The Applewood Manor B&B, Castleton

A wonderful family from Virginia bought the Applewood Manor B&B in Castleton with the intent of using it as their residence.  This beautiful and historic inn was run for eleven years with great success by Ralph Hirschorn and Nancy Cameron.  Guests loved the expansive grounds, the river frontage, pool, and the beautiful architectural details throughout the inn.  There are times when there is a crossover between the residential real estate marketplace and the hospitality real estate marketplace, and this is one of them.   Vermont has lost a wonderful inn but gained a beautiful new young family.

Cornwall Orchards Bed and Breakfast

After a New England-wide search for the perfect Bed and Breakfast, Miles Peterle and Lise Anderson settled on a historic former apple orchard known as the Cornwall Orchards B&B.  They called Wendy and asked her to represent them through their purchase, and she happily agreed.  The inn had been closed a little over one year when its former owners retired.  Lise and Miles look forward to recreating its stellar reputation amid the college crowd and tourists who frequent Middlebury.  The inn has a beautiful setting with lovely views from the breakfast room and the guest rooms.   Miles and Lise plan to reopen the inn late summer.  We wish them the best as they go about setting up this new business venture.

Inn at Ormsby Hill, Manchester

We are proud to have represented Yoshio and Diane Endo in the recent sale of their beautiful property, the Inn at Ormsby Hill.  We had the distinct pleasure of being involved in the transaction when they purchased the exquisite ten room Bed and Breakfast and so it seems fitting that we were able to help them when it came time to sell.  The inn is a spectacular architectural specimen, a property with a long and interesting history.  For the past several years, it has served with distinction as one of Vermont’s four diamond rated lodging establishments.  Jack and Mary Ann Orlando are the proud new owners of the inn.  They have dreamed of owning this type of property for many years, and they look forward to continued stewardship of their beautiful  new home.

Grunberg House Bed and Breakfast

Grunberg Haus, Waterbury, Vermont

Jeff and Linda Conner did a fabulous job running the Grunberg Haus for over fifteen years.  They truly enjoyed their interactions with guests, and they were very successful innkeepers for this reason.  They developed a loyal following who enjoyed their bed and breakfast rooms and seasonal, pet-friendly cabins.  It was a big decision to let go, however, life traveling the country in an RV beckoned.  There were many interested parties in this unique property, but in the end, Duane Beck and his wife, Leah, avid snow- boarders, skate- boarders, toy designers, and car collectors came to visit the inn and instantly fell in love.  The rest is history, and a very smooth transition ensued.

Profile Deluxe Motel, Twin Mountain New Hampshire

We were very excited when we received the telephone call from Lisa and Jzm Covey who owned the 13 room Profile Deluxe Motel located on almost 5 acres of land in Twin Mountain, New Hampshire. Upon visiting with them, we found a charming, very well maintained property overlooking the White Mountains and an indescribable view of Mount Washington right from the owner’s home living room window ! We knew it was a very special property with a long history of serving guests “above the notch”. We were also fortunate to have Jodi and Mike Petrosus from Massachusetts inquire about the property and we found that their love of the outdoors and hiking in the Whites matched their desire to own a motel property in New Hampshire. Needless to say, we all worked together to put a deal together and we are happy to report that the reviews under Jodi and Mike’s ownership continue to be glowing. Congratulations to all!
