Jackson House Inn, Woodstock

The Jackson House Inn has sold to James Steward of Blue Hill Properties.  This was a very special match made between buyer and sellers by Wendy Beach without the inn ever making its way to the real estate marketplace.  Brokerage is at times about strong relationships, and this transaction was a perfect example.  Kathy and Rick Terwelp, innkeepers for the past nine years at the Jackson House, built a stellar reputation and an outstanding business on the premise that perfection will bring guests back.  Their over the top curated breakfasts, sumptuous accommodations, personal attention to every detail, and spectacular landscaped grounds leave guests feeling pampered, as though they have been somewhere extraordinary.  For this they have received many accolades, a four diamond rating among them.  James Steward’s background in fine art will bring an element of design and programming to the inn  that will enhance and deepen the inn’s reputation.

The Middlebury Diner

A landmark eatery in the town of Middlebury, The Diner,  has been purchased by its neighbor, the Town Hall Theater.  The Non-profit has some exciting plans for expansion that will evolve over time as the Theater completes a significant capital campaign.  The Theater purchased the Diner from owners Caetlin Harwood and Carl Roesch.  Many in town were sad to see this historic restaurant close its doors, but there is no doubt that the Theater will make great use of the space!  Wendy Beach represented Carl and Caetlin in the sale of their property.

Harmony Mountain Abode

Congratulations to Michelle Palys who in December ’17 purchased this  charming farmhouse  which was built over 100 years ago and had been catering to visitors to the White Mountains for over 50 years.  The previous owner’s,  Shehong Chen and Wei Zhou  purchased the inn in 2007 and did a wonderful job of maintaining the property.

The Abode has 5 bedrooms and 2 suites, all with their own bath.  There is loads  of common space in the house with a dining room, two living rooms  that offer  privacy and a quiet place to chat or read.  A front porch also offers space to enjoy the views to the White Mountains.

The property is situated on 5 acres of  land, with direct access to the snowmobile trails that are so popular in this part of New Hampshire.  It is is centrally located with skiing at Cannon Mountain (about 12 miles away) or Bretton Woods (about 5 miles away). Hiking, foliage viewing, fishing and exploring are all close by and convenient to the inn.

We are so looking forward to see the great things Michelle has in store for this property, bringing White Mountain Hospitality to a new level !

The Timberholm Inn B&B – A Stowe Inn Original !

Congratulations to Valerie and Michael Blanchard who in August of 2017 purchased the inn from Susan and Tom Barnes.  The Barnes ran the inn for 9 years and purchased the inn through the Hearthside Group.  The Barnes’s are pleased to pass on this wonderful inn to the Blanchard’s who we know will continue to improve the fine reputation of this property in the Stowe area.

This nine room bed and breakfast Stowe inn located on Cottage Club Road within the Town of Stowe, Vermont was built in 1949. The 2 story extended lodge style building is recognized by the Stowe Historical Society as one of Stowe’s very first ski lodges. It is located just off Route 108, one of the busiest tourist routes in the State of Vermont that leads directly to the resort facilities of Mount Mansfield in one direction and to the quaint Village of Stowe in the other. The location is going from great to amazing considering the Alchemist Brewery (Home of Heady Topper) is opening a visitor center in walking distance on the same street.
